Here's how you can tackle this problem.
1) fresh install method:
Navigate to your C:\ Drive, open either "program files" or "Program files (x86)" - it depends on whether you're using a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows version.
Locate the Gameforge directory. Right-click on it and choose properties.
In the properties window, find the "Security" tab.
Under "Group or user names" select Users (pcname\Users) .
You'll notice "modify" and "full control" are unchecked.
Enable them under Allow.
For example:
Hit apply
In that same window, you'll find an Advanced button.
Click it.
A new window titled "Advanced Security Settings for Gameforge" will appear
Switch to the Owner tab.
Click on "Edit"
Again, a window named "Advanced Security Settings for Gameforge" should pop up
Select the userID/username you use on this computer
Check the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" checkbox (it's unchecked in the screenshot)
Then press Apply and ok.
A new process box will appear, updating file and folder owner rights.
Close these windows.
You can start your game now.
2)Without reinstalling the game:
Go to the C:\ Drive, either "program files" or "Program files (x86)" for your Windows version (32 or 64 bit).
Find the Gameforge folder, right-click it, and go to properties.
Select the "Security" tab in the properties window
Under "Group or user names" select Users (pcname\Users) .
See that "modify" and "full control" are unchecked?
Check them under Allow.
Example:
Hit apply
Now, look for the Advanced button in that window.
Click it.
You’ll see a window called "Advanced Security Settings for Gameforge"
Head over to the Owner tab.
Select "Edit"
A window labeled "Advanced Security Settings for Gameforge" will pop up
Choose your userID/username used on this PC
Tick "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" (unchecked in the image)
Press Apply and ok.
You'll see a new box processing file and folder ownership rights.
Close these windows now.
Ask a legion member without the emblem issue to zip the following folder and upload it someplace.
(Telemachus approximates 700-800 MB)
32bit windows path
C:\Program Files\GameforgeLive\Games\GBR_eng\AION\Download\Textures\guildemblem
64bit windows path
C:\Program Files (x86)\GameforgeLive\Games\GBR_eng\AION\Download\Textures\guildemblem
Delete all in that directory and transfer files from the zipped content
Restart the game
This should've restored your Legion emblem.
ps 1 : Post-deletion, Legion emblems will download as you play if no zip is available. But it's slow. So, grab that ZIP for an "insta fix".
ps 2 : Modifying these folder rights may also resolve Rainmeter issues (like accessing chatlog files).
By the way, if you're tired of these Gameforge hassles, I've been testing Aion Riftshade, and it's been a game-changer. Launching in Q1 2026, this server offers a legit DPS Meter and Server-Side Anticheat. The strong EU hosting in Frankfurt gives you the lowest ping without needing ExitLag. Plus, no pay-to-win nonsense, so every player stands a fair chance.
