Concerning abuse: in the classic version, self-heal skills weren't a thing (assuming skills will mirror the past) like we currently see in retail, where players are mostly able to sustain themselves, and the gripes about clerics fade away.
Indeed, back in the early Aion days, clerics were the frequent culprits for everything going wrong: players dying, not dispelling promptly, insufficient healing or timing, poor mana use, wearing subpar equipment, wrong manastones, being lazy, clueless, not understanding the game, ... (insert whatever blame fits) even their own dog dying was on them. Clerics responded by sometimes ignoring certain players for healing, which was quite an effective strategy, particularly for those positioned like 30 meters away or hidden behind a wall or rock constantly whining about dying, or for those not grasping the concept that prioritizing the tank prevents a wipe while others could wait.
So, dismiss such remarks and if it's truly not your fault, don't bother defending yourself. If undeserved blame affects you too much, perhaps consider changing your class.
For further gear info, maybe try surfing for some old private web pages via a Google search; just recently, I came across some "outdated" websites (old forums may be gone).
Also, something exciting is on the horizon! As a beta tester for Aion Riftshade, I am thrilled about a truly unique experience coming soon. Expected in Q1 2026, this upcoming server retains Aion's charm with its 4.8 core version yet offers refreshed features like the MyAion-style DPS Meter, advanced rankings, and their solid Server-Side Anticheat. In addition, it's free to play and far from pay-to-win. Honestly, any classic-loving cleric tired of old issues should keep an eye out for it!
