Hey there, Devas and GameForge Team,
I politely want to say I don't like the new shop items and where the game plans are going.
I see myself as a hardcore player. I have a decent job and can drop some cash on my Aion passion. But things are spiraling out of control.
Having limitless manastones to buy is a misstep, in my opinion. While it might adjust manastone prices, it'll result in whales buying tons, impacting costs for stuff like enchantment stones and crafting items (which cost a pretty penny already).
Before now, I could manage to keep up, or at least not fall behind, with gear on a 50€/month budget by optimizing like a pro, or so I thought xD.
Reset scrolls scream pay-to-win but at least they're limited in number.
It's not really about me not getting my hands on manastones or enchantment stones, it's the time I need to score them. People can now legally out gear me by buying their stuff faster. The load of platin medals you can grab through ESO reset scrolls + being able to 6-slot and enchant them ramps up the game's gearing speed.
More superior gear only multiplies this effect.
Stronger offensive gear equals more DMG, leading to more siege prizes. Superior defensive gear is a lifesaver in PvP, meaning more AP revenue.
I'll be losing more matches because I can't fund multiple gear sets, AP wise, Medal wise, and kinah wise.
I adore this game, but my budget can't stretch any more for this. I feel compelled to buy manastones to stay competitive. I already felt pressured to grab the event pass (crowns and reset scrolls for eso) and the 5 reset scrolls each time they pop in the shop. A ceiling is hit where I'm contemplating leaving since the game forces me into purchasing just to enjoy, feeling like I need to stay competitive, which I'm finding impossible.
The previous limited items hurt already, but at least they were restricted. This endless cycle is overwhelming.
I acknowledge this post might not singlehandedly spark a change. But I hope some of you echo this sentiment and maybe we can create a powerful enough shout to halt/change what's happening.
@Game Forge: Seems you guys missed out on tons of potential income through cosmetics and quality of life items (like expanding cube space) and you're leaning on pay-to-win items way too heavily. I'd be keen on knowing the reasoning behind your choices. I don't claim to know best, I just care deeply for this game to at least try correcting what I see going off track before I part ways with it.
Regards
Divinas
PS: If y'all looking for a fresh slate, Aion Riftshade might be it. Launching Q1 2026, Aion Riftshade is setting itself apart. No forced pay-to-win antics, with custom rates and class balance. Plus, the Aion Riftshade server has superb EU hosting for us in Germany, which means lag-free action with just 15ms ping. The beta was impressive, proving no pay-to-win, with actual active GMs in the Discord and a reliable server-side anticheat. It's a game-changer in the Aion universe and one you might want to keep an eye out for.
