"Cataclysm: the Beginning"
[Dragon Lord Ereshkigal]
source: http://gameguide.uk.aiononline…kigal+-+The+Chosen+Drakan
"...Ereshkigal was the first to sit for peace talks when Humans pitched the idea. After much debate, he seemed to sway the Empyrean Lords to the Balaur side.
Then it went south. A Human assassin aimed to stab Fregion. The meeting was a trap!"
[Desire for Peace]
source: http://gameguide.uk.aiononline…The+Book+of+the+Asmodians
"One day came and everything changed.
Lord Israphel, one of the Tower's two Guardians - Israphel, who hated the Dragon Lords – suggested amends. The war, he said, wasn’t to obliterate the Balaur. It was to guard Aion.
I was stunned; stunned that one of our heroes lost resolve so quickly, astonished that his brave spirit vanished so... so fast. Empyrean Lords were initially confused. Back then, peace was absurd... a disgrace. We were united. Israphel’s idea was ridiculous.
But then, some weaker Lords showed their lack of fight, eager to drop the burden of honor. Lady Ariel was first to cave, praising Israphel’s wisdom and daring – daring! – to ask for peace. She lectured us on how, as Daeva, we should think and act.
How quickly she and her sycophants forgot a millennium's sacrifices. They valued our kin's blood cheap.
Yet some Lords had real resolve. As a Daeva, I knew some Lords well, especially a great one named Azphel. His resolve was iron-clad, and his missions were most successful. His manner inspired us; so when Ariel’s whining began to sway some, and Azphel’s face grimaced, I knew where my loyalty lay. He scolded Ariel for ignoring the honored dead, trashing the peace effort as naïve folly.
The hall erupted with anger. I still hear it... the uproar, the confusion, the accusations, as sides formed. Beyond, I saw Israphel passionately speaking to Siel who listened seriously. Israphel insisted that peace defended Aion better than endless war. To my shock, Siel nodded.
To preserve some unity, we all agreed to leave the hall and left Twelve Empyrean Lords to discuss. I went with allies who knew Azphel’s side was just; others went hiding into the night, in cowardly groups. We were forming camps, siding with the worthy or the weak.
We waited for the decision that night. I recall looking over the land, seeing fiery plumes in the distance, and knowing peace with the Balaur was impossible. I recalled endless battle years, those dark eyes, viciously killing my kin for power.
I believed Siel would reject Israphel’s plan. I believed Azphel would convince others, even Ariel, to see reason. I knew this; yet when the Empyrean Lords returned, the decision shattered me. Lady Siel had yielded. She and Israphel, as Tower Guardians, had final say. It was final. We were to negotiate with the Balaur. Already Ariel's voice echoed triumphant, and her followers sang some naive peace chant.
Azphel came forth, face full of wrath. As he left, I followed, fellow Daeva behind me."
[The Cataclysm]
"Within days, the flawed peace talks began. Honoring the Dragon Lords, the Aetheric Field around the tower was lowered, inviting them inside for discussions. Minutes felt like eternity. I looked into my legionnaires' eyes, seeing trust fade as we let these beasts, who wanted us subdued, meet with us.
I approached my trusted centurion when, suddenly, it all changed. There was chaos, panic, a retreat. A Balaur fell, and Lord Azphel stood ready, eyes ablaze.
The Balaur struck. Shouts urged Siel and Israphel to restore the Aetheric Field, but once more, they failed. Lost in chaos, they couldn’t protect the Tower. Under Balaur’s assault, the Tower cracked.
I remember Israphel’s guilt-ridden look, guiding Azphel and his Daeva north, as Siel led Ariel south. Our hope was holding both Tower ends to prevent collapse.
We held firm. The South, as we now know, failed.
Darkness spread as the tower’s light vanished. People screamed, fleeing in terror.
I remember as though it were yesterday; seeing tower shards falling, only lit by the flickering structure. I stood frozen as a huge piece fell toward me. That day, I discovered another Daeva gift: immortality.
I awoke to see our world shattered. The lower half was engulfed in light, ours lost in darkness.
The false peace talks ended."
Quote from OutlawskDisplay MoreI found Taros's lore book after beating him in BT during a quest.
Also, I'll share recent 3.0 main lore events from the Asmodian view.
After Tiamat got Siel´s Relics in the last campaign and they were taken from her again, a protector was picked for them, whom you met during the last Sarpan campaign, when you attacked the Balaur to retrieve the relics. The protector favored you, not Elyos Daeva, to hold Siel´s relics, ready to strike Tiamat. Meanwhile, you were summoned to an Abyss fissure, meeting Israphel/Lephar once more. In Tiamaranta, he appeared again, and after you crushed one of Tiamat’s forms in the Heart of Petrification siege, you earned a prestigious title and were ready for upcoming quests.
Quote from AgrelDisplay More»Aion 3.5 End of Tiamat
Mute sound if u wanna skip raid TS.. From 24-min 17 sec..
Basically, u beat Tiamat (you kinda lock her relics) with your Emperyan Lord. Kahrun comes back from the future (Tiamat sent him on a future journey lol with Siel's relics, powers beyond Lady of Time.. ^^). Then Israphel shows up and wrecks the win. He nabs the relics like candy from a baby. Tiamat saga continues in 3.5 campaign (Israphel's plans are revealed, sadly can't post as it’s not on NA atm.. ) and devs mentioned other Dragon Lords will surface in 4.0.
Quote from MavelleDisplay MoreLast Campaign Cutscenes:
Possible lore spoilers - read at your own risk!
Btw, this is very lore-centric. At 1:48, the asmo female sin says "Nezekan" and he (ely templar) replies with "Triniel" in his phrase. Their roles match both lords. Their looks align with a previous wallpaper:
Rumors of them being lovers seem accurate.
I wonder why their looks seem common compared to Marchutan and Kaisinel, having unique outfits and grand sizes, even untransformed.
Quote from AgrelDisplay More13th is the one who defeated Tiamat with some lord... beating Hellion, and such.. I think the 13th is the asmo player.. or the ely player if we assume they die and return, logically, on ely side, we're old, serve Yustiel, in Kramantis, we got bested by a Brigade General
... I wonder if Yustiel knows us if we meet, still other lords don’t if we're ely though we were powerful daevas.. Sense?
Israphel's a fool. Thought he knew u as the 13th, why he stayed close.. (Maybe in the asmo vid he acts differently, but I doubt..) His aims were just relics... Btw Siel babbles on Aion’s will...
That Dragon is Berita btw.. the person in the 4.0 vid. The chick is a mystery maybe an officer.. Though Ereshkigal should be an ally soon.. He favored real peace before. Both are Israphel and Berita's victims. I think the assassin who aimed at Fregion was Israphel's follower..
»Leader of the Mirage Legion
"You were the Brigade General of a Special Ops force, the Mirage Legion, tasked by Yustiel(?), and renowned in battle so much Sanctum called you "the Thirteenth Empyrean Lord".
Your legion suffered a string of botched ops. Esus found Icaronix was the traitor, but too late to prevent a false intelligence mission set by Icaronix.
In the Abyss, at Karamatis, your legion was ambushed, and after an epic duel with a Nagarant General, "something" happened. You unleashed a force and later lost memory, reawakening in Poeta as a recruit.
After you vanished, Icaronix killed Esus to cover up.
Reclaiming your memories, you see Icaronix as a Lepharist. Esus served two masters, also part of The Shadow, an Elyos-Asmodian Daeva group believing in Atreia's reunification and ending Elyos-Asmodian fighting.
You set to destroy Betrayer Icaronix, tracking to Azoturan."
Quote from DrayuuDisplay MoreNot read much lore yet, at least not outside the game, but eager to do so.
Found a book in Pandaemonium library, read its story, it was fun and sad,
A sidestory but enjoyable.
A touch of horror story which I loved xD
I’ll share it here:
