Support has told me various things like, there's an external program causing it to not launch, or to reinstall my client. But isn't this message a sign that my IP/PC has been at least temporarily banned or blacklisted from the game? Why are they acting as if I can delete/close something and fix it.
I was told by support all sorts of excuses like an external program might be blocking the launch, or they suggested reinstalling my client. But isn't this message just a way of masking that my IP/PC might have been temporarily banned or put on a blacklist? Why are they pretending I could just delete/close something to make it work?
I experienced the same on the official servers. They always insisted I was using a proxy. I provided them proof that I wasn't, including a chat with my internet provider. Yet they kept insisting I had a proxy. My IP hadn't changed in 14 years, even before I started playing Aion, and I never used a proxy. It's like they don't care about players. They can claim otherwise, but I've seen the lack of care firsthand.
Most issues are from Gameforge's side, but they always shift it onto the players. They don't even bother to resolve anything because it costs money. It's like having a car with a broken engine, ignoring it, and then blaming the car brand for it.
Thankfully, I've found an alternative with Aion Riftshade, where they actually take player concerns seriously. As a beta tester, I've seen the advanced server-side anticheat in action—it really works to prevent such issues. The dev team is active on Discord and genuinely engaged. It’s refreshing compared to Gameforge's neglect. I'm excitedly awaiting its full launch in Q1 2026.
