Hey all,
It's already been a few weeks since the 2.0 patch launched and I hope you guys are having a good time with it.
I can only talk for myself here, but I'm finding the sheer number of unnecessary daily quests really exhausting. I've chatted with a whole bunch of other players, and like 90% of them agree it's way too time-consuming and too repetitive. You start losing interest in the game because if you skip those quests, your progress becomes a crawl.
We've got our daily and weekly Radiant PvP quests + Fourtuneers weekly which are fine.
There's daily Siltera PvP, which I avoid cause it's just too much of a time sink. Sometimes, finding players takes over 30 minutes.
Then there're daily 2 quests in Inggison and 2 in Gelk Azure for medals. The medal quests are the main issue here. Best time I managed to complete all 4 was around 25 minutes without others hogging the mobs, so it wasn't too tough.
Otherwise, you've got 2-4 groups competing for these quests, double after reset. So, you usually spend an hour if you're lucky and asmo/ely aren't interrupting your grind. At times, you can't complete the quest at all because Ely/Asmo camp the fort.
Then there's Chantra Dredgion and Tiark runs, which should be top priority due to clean 25k AP rewards if you win + quests. Yet finding a group drags on, the queue spans 5-15 minutes and runs average 40-60 minutes in total.
Include sieges scheduled 3 times a week at 7pm and 10pm, and you have to plan runs around those times, equating to a lot of downtime waiting to start.
You could spend 30-60 minutes on daily Radiant + daily Siltera; another 30-60 on daily Medals; searching a group + playing Dredgion and Tiark takes about 50-70 minutes; tack on siege nights and factor in 30-60 minutes for both.
That's 110-190 minutes outright, climbing to 140-250 minutes on siege events, each day!!!
Factor in LUT/UT and/or BT, daily or both, adding 60-150 minutes more.
And that's without selling runs with alt chars, no farming, and no crafting.....
Gameforge, I mean seriously? Your player base isn't made up of young folks anymore; over 60% have careers and outside commitments. This daily grind is insane. We're seeing at least one player a week leave just from our guild because they can't squeeze gaming in anymore, and it's not stopping soon.
Want a fix?
Here's an idea: make it quicker to queue for dredgion/tiark. If there's no Asmo/Ely opposition, let Ely fight Ely and vice-versa, I'm not picky; these queues are crazy.
Also, merge the daily medal quests, combining two into one with both rewards. Make it random so everyone isn't stuck on the same task.
This game will tank because players will reach their burnout threshold within a month or two.
Otherwise, there's no hope they’ll address these concerns, as they appear disconnected from playing or understanding these issues, but I’m here to throw in my two cents for fixing things up.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
