Hello Daevas,
I am Nyoka, and I’m the Product Manager for AION Classic in Europe. This version has been an exhilarating and tricky journey from the get-go, as we were committed to making sure that AION Classic delivers a seamless and delightful experience. Despite some starter bumps, we've tackled most issues and now witness countless players adventuring joyfully in the game. Your encouraging feedback is superb, spurring us to strive to provide the pinnacle of gaming fun!
This post aims to overview the game’s progress since its debut, and more thrillingly, to offer a sneak peek at our exciting plans for AION Classic in the latter parts of the year.
Our updates will bring fresh excitement, ensuring there's always new content to dive into regularly.
But first, let’s revisit our story thus far:
The AION Classic Kickoff – A Success Story
We unveiled the server slightly delayed on April 25, 2023, needing a bit extra time to mend initial technical issues between NCSoft and Gameforge platforms. Our goal was readiness to host the vast number of eager players anxiously awaiting the launch.
Just after launch, we faced login hitches and DDoS assaults. Though login concerns were quickly addressed by our team, DDoS attacks have risen, sadly dimming player experiences. Nevertheless, the AION Classic team has been laboring hard (even during holidays!) with our tech security team and external partners, persisting in efforts to deliver a smooth gaming ride.
Despite those issues, AION Classic’s European premiere was so successful that we quickly launched the Tahabata server following the Atreia server to satisfy the surging demand. We're proud to witness two bustling servers today, showcasing a healthy Elyos and Asmodian balance!
2023 Roadmap – Anticipate This Year
We've got loads of thrilling content queued up for the year! But first, here’s a brief on our planning:
You can expect updates inspired by Korean player content, but with tweaks to suit our players’ needs.
Our 2023 roadmap is crafted to maintain balance, allowing time to test each version. Yet, we aim to release quickly to keep things buzzing.
Names may change, but we’ll announce precise release timelines for each update separately in future posts or on social media.
