Version 2.8.5 challenges all players' abilities with two thrilling new scenarios. Here's what you and your team should prepare for in Tartarus.
Tiamat’s Underground Secrets
At level 58, team up with up to five comrades to delve into Tartarus and thwart the devious plots Tiamat is crafting below the Apheta Beluslan Fortress.
Dare to take the plunge to earn Abyss Relics each week (refreshing by Wednesday, 9 AM).
Backstory
Tiamat's henchmen are tasked with centralizing temporal energy under the Apheta Beluslan Fortress. Her goal is to harness it for her lethal intents. Tiamat's treasures are fiercely guarded, and any daeva trying to thwart her must face a myriad of lethal obstacles deep underground...
Where Is Tartarus?
Access Tartarus via the Apheta Beluslan Fortress if your group controls it. Otherwise, locate Tikimunerk or Tikirunerk near the area to attain a Time Fragment. Travel to your faction’s airship and employ the Fragment to cross to Tartarus.
The Instance
As soon as you step into Tartarus, you encounter your first test: Vasuki Lifespark! Unhappy with intruders, he’ll try to immobilize you with his spells. You’ll meet him more than once, so don’t get distracted from your aim—advance into the secret vault under the stronghold!
To bypass Tiamat’s secrets-protecting seal, cross the Dungeon Surveillance Center and find yourself in a grand area before the immense seal, powered by four generators guarded by Balaur troops.
Destroy those generators to drop the seal, beyond which Gatekeeper Melkennis awaits. Tiamat’s minion is well-defended, shrugging off your blows, and sending two hounds after you! Upon overcoming the Gatekeeper, the reward of Abyss Relics in treasure chests awaits you.
Past the seal, fly into Tartarus and prepare for the self-destroying Prison Ashulagens. Those observant in chaos will notice some Ashulagens flash purple instead of the usual red...
At Hellpath, you’ll encounter Guard Leader Sumeda, who will zealously block your entry. Defeating him opens a door to Tartarus’s most fortified section!
There, Vasuki Lifespark confronts you one last time. Unsuccessful as he's been, he fears Tiamat’s no-failure tolerance and personally seeks to stop you!
Bypassing him, three bizarre Gargoyles impede your path. With one shielded by impenetrable protection, insights from prior battles may guide you to disable this seemingly unbeatable guardian...
The air crackles with electricity at Tartarus’s core, where Tiamat crafts a replica of Phaestos! You've arrived amidst their work. Though the replica isn't fully functional, it's still a force to reckon with!
After the tumultuous battle, as you stand covered in residual dust, you'll find Tartarus Treasure Chests brimming with Abyss Relics awaiting you!
Tips and Tricks
Seek Condensed Time Echoes while exploring. Daevas skilled in essencetapping can collect these. Most contain Time Splinters, and a few contain rare Eris Fragments—crucial later! After facing the final boss, note the locked treasure chest. Players with an Eris Fragment can unlock it for additional Abyss Relics, gaining an edge over their teammates.
Apparently, indomitable foes should resist overlying dependence on comrades, as many have failed this way. Near the gate of Vasuki Lifespark's final encounter, adventure-seeking Daevas aware of their new gliding expertise may discover a hidden secret...
The elusive Paruam Sealguard is tucked away with Informers monitoring Tartarus’s challenging zones. What might follow from defeating these Informers?
