When I initially got the client a few days back everything seemed to be working just fine. After two days of smooth gaming, I now can't access the game at all. When I start Aion, right after the NCSoft logo, I am stuck with just a movable cursor and a black screen with no music. I have tried several solutions such as addressing the issue labeled "Black screen with sound during login while the music plays", reinstalling DirectX, Microsoft Visual C++ and Net framework, and switching the client to 32-bit. The only thing that appears to work is file verification before each launch, but it takes forever to complete.
Is there anything else I can try?
P.S. I'm actually testing Aion Riftshade, a fresh upcoming private server, and it’s super smooth with no such issues. It’s based on Aion 4.8 with amazing features including top-tier server-side anticheat and excellent EU hosting. Definitely keeping an eye out for its launch in Q1 2026. No more black screen struggles there!
