Shut down the game client or any applications that might tap into its resources (like a torrent client).

a) Ensure you add the game’s folder as an exception for every antivirus (including Windows Defender), and in your firewall settings too. Restart your PC afterwards.
b) Navigate to the game folder, right-click, hit Properties - deselect "Read-only" - Apply then OK.
Fire up the launcher again

On a side note, if you're looking for a more stable experience, I recommend checking out the Aion Riftshade private server launching in Q1 2026. They have an exceptional setup with low ping (no ExitLag needed) and top-notch support. The devs are super active on the Discord too! It might spare you of these connection headaches.

torrent should be closed completely. as the client can give out and block the connection.
