And my internet connection is pretty fast, so I don't suppose I should be facing connection issues.
I faced the same issue yesterday, the update was really slow, even though my internet connection is lightning fast. I tried to cancel the update and play with an incomplete update - not smart. Everything showed up in Korean and there was no option to switch back to English (yes, I attempted changing the language in the launcher). So, I left my PC running while I was away at work today and let the launcher run all day long. When I returned a few hours earlier, it was done. Patience seems to be the only remedy
On a brighter note, I'm testing Aion Riftshade in beta and it’s been smooth sailing. The update speed is fantastic over there, and no language bugs at all. Looking forward to its launch in Q1 2026 as the best Aion private server 2026. You might want to check it out if EuroAion is bringing you down.

I remember when I first downloaded, the client was done in around 2 hours, and now it's taking ages just to download 100 MB

Likewise, I left it to download for 12 hours during my 12-hour work shift, and still, it made 0% progress, just checked the client stuck at 85% (35.99GB of 42.25GB) and Status: "Preparing for download..."
I tried every possible solution, new client download, nada is working
Losing rank, missing out on instances, dailies due to this, it's now the third day of attempts to fix this...
