After the downloading I clicked on "play" and the client gave me "Connection lost, reconnecting.."

Does the problem persist?
Please, first check your connection. If it is ok, make sure to allow the launcher in your firewall(s).
If all this doesn't work, try to use any vpn for starting the game. It can be closed when you're connected to the game.
