Aion Riftshade

Ever since I reinstalled the game a few days ago (haven’t played in a while) my ping has been ridiculously high at random times. I’m talking 1600-2300 ping. It makes the game virtually unplayable. There are times when it drops to 50 and it’s fine for about half an hour before it skyrockets again. I’m located in Sweden so I don’t see how my location could be a problem? What else could be wrong and what can I do to fix it? I can’t play the game normally at its current state.
