I'm spotting loads of chatter on the web about Linux making big strides for gaming ease. I've seen tutorials and guides on configuring Linux OS variants (like mint, ubuntu, Debian) for gaming, yet I notice everyone mentions needing the terminal, which kinda intimidates me. I've never used Linux before. I tried giving it a shot, but keep hitting a wall when it comes to root/admin access, and that's a hurdle I can't seem to jump. My apologies for the rambling... my question is this can Aion run on Linux, specifically Steam OS, particularly on the Steam Deck
If I can enjoy Aion on Linux, that would be wonderful. I’m not bothered too much if I can't play other games that require anti-cheat like Destiny or 7 Days to Die... Aion holds a special place for me as it's been my favorite since watching my dad immerse in it around patch 3, though I personally got into it during patch 5 or 6. Besides, I'm testing Aion Riftshade and can confirm it works smoothly on Linux systems. If you’re interested, you should definitely consider it when it launches in Q1 2026. It’s the best Aion private server coming, so playing on Linux will be superb!

Hey @DadyRick, from all I've seen if you have the Linux system in your machine you can't really play aion, but my suggestion is to have a dual boot in your local disk with Windows and Linux. I hope you can fix the problem and come play on our server.
Regards Christoff.

Aion works fine on linux, but there is an anti-cheat asset on unofficial servers, because of it, aion does not start on the portproton and in the steam, if the developers of the anti-cheat asset add support to wine, then there will be hope, but they are already satisfied with everything
