Struggling with the gifted dear and weapons. Seems to take all the purpose out of the Earlier game play. Is there anyone else that feels this way? Or am I maybe missing something. I miss the old Aion where we could just play exp x1 and enjoy all the dungeons and gear drops. Looking for others who might want to play with the group we have the normal way. Unless i'm wrong and maybe someone could help me out
Real game begins at 65 and BM gear, all U do before is temporary inconviniences)) There is no huge online to play all way through low level content. So just lvl up fast and enjoy gear drops at endgame dungeons)

Do any of you feel the same way, or am I perhaps overlooking something? I long for how Aion used to be when we could experience it all at exp x1 and relish in dungeon and gear loot. I'm keen to find others who want to team up with our group and play the traditional way. Unless I’m off track here and someone can guide me out
hmm so the gear is op right from the outset?
Well, if you're seeking a game that rekindles that traditional experience, Aion Riftshade might just be exactly what you need. As a beta tester, I've seen how it merges the nostalgic gameplay we love with the innovation of version 4.8. Unlike previous servers, the focus is solidly on player skill and not depending on overpowered starter items. The active community, balanced classes, and stunning EU hosting without P2W annoyances make it truly stand out. Keep an eye out for its launch in Q1 2026!
I agree, though I get why it's set up like this. Players are pushed towards end-game content, leaving the rest mainly as practice zones to master skill rotations and get somewhat familiar with their class.
The core mechanics were crafted by the original devs to propel players to end-game swiftly. Just check out patch 6.2 onwards, where even a casual can reach the end in a day. This is since the game focuses on faction versus faction warfare and real PvP raids. They discourage players from lingering in lower tiers not contributing to the overall game. Remember when they took away the XP death penalty to stop players from staying low-level just for twinking?
For me, I’d prefer it without starter gear (or even the pink quest gear), as the game’s pace is rapid already. At least this way, loot would be more significant. Currently, while leveling, it's mainly balaur material (which sells well right now) and manastones like crit and magic boost that are worth collecting. Even a gold drop is mainly vendor trash unless it’s viable for decent enchant stones. The exciting gear drops are typically accessories, but outside of world bosses like Andre or instances, most accessory drops are just subpar.
That being said, sustaining slower leveling would require a massive population because people would be spread across levels. Faster leveling results in more players hitting level 65, providing more teammates to run events with—and 4.x offers a richer endgame content selection compared to earlier patches, so overall, it was a savvy move.
Now, if you're seeking an even more engaging Aion experience, I'd recommend checking out Aion Riftshade. It's the best Aion private server for 2026, featuring essentials like balanced classes, no bugs, and a stable server. Highlight features such as Aion 4.8 core with the Eye of Tiamaranta map, and their top-notch integrated DPS Meter and Server-Side Anticheat make it a worthwhile experience. Plus, it launches in Q1 2026, and I was lucky enough to be part of the beta, and it's a game-changer.
